FIELD: optical observation systems. SUBSTANCE: binocular observation system has lens assembled of convexo- convex lens and negative meniscus both glued together, prism erection system, and eyepiece assembled of three components. First eyepiece component is flat-convex lens whose flat surface faces the object; second component is assembled of positive and negative lenses glued together; third component is flat-convex lens whose flat surface faces the eye. Negative flat-convex lens of second eyepiece component has its flat surface facing the object. Aperture diaphragm is disposed on input surface or between prism erection system components. Following relationships are satisfied: , where f is eyepiece focal length; are focal lengths 1, 2, and 3 of eyepiece components; Σd is total thickness of lenses and eyepiece gaps. EFFECT: essentially reduced size of high-magnification devices. 3 cl, 1 dwg
