FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying dopplerometric ultrasonic device for measuring blood circulation flow rate in the ophthalmic artery both in intra- and extracranial segment of the ophthalmic artery. The eye undergone blood circulation observation is exposed to small pressure required for smoothing blood circulation measurements in intra- and extracranial segment of the ophthalmic artery. The device has inflatable chamber and ultrasonic converter with acoustic impulse transmitter and receiver. A signal is produced usable by circuit controlling depth having sampling signal measurement depth control unit, sample frequency counter having memory unit connected to frequency shift determining unit when compared to transmitted impulse frequency. Pump is connected to unit for increasing pressure to increase pressure in the chamber. Ultrasonic converter according to the second embodiment has features for controlling its position on the central axis for adjusting impulses on internal and external portions of the ophthalmic artery.
