FIELD: machine engineering, namely manufacture of transport vehicle cabins and bodies with facing panels welded by means of spot welding of variable-width beadings. SUBSTANCE: pickup has mushroom-like rollers-probes made by means of combination of two pairs of contact surfaces: end surface and bearing surface. End surfaces are in the form of hemispheres engaged with bent portions of band of beadings independently upon width and state of their edges and they are mutually opposite forced one to another. Bearing surfaces are in the form of rounded generatrices of rollers-probes and they engage directly with curvature zone of joined facing panels and forced to them in parallel relative to beadings. EFFECT: enhanced automatization degree of manual operations with use of heavy welding tongs, possibly for adaptive welding robots. 2 cl, 2 dwg
