FIELD: decontaminating circulating water reservoirs polluted as result of accidents at nuclear power installations. SUBSTANCE: proposed method for decontaminating circulating water reservoirs such as the Techa and Pripyat rivers polluted by radioactive isotopes of strontium 90,89 and cesium 137 as result of accidents at Industrial Association Mayak and Chernobyl NPS involves use of mineral barrier for the purpose. Mineral barrier is made in the form of dam erected in river channel across water flow. Dam is provided with steps for water upflow. Steps are covered with glauconitic sand. One of alternatives of proposed method is erection of dam from concrete. Dam can be likewise made in horseshoe shape. EFFECT: facilitated procedure and enhanced economic efficiency of method. 3 cl
