FIELD: chemical sources of electric energy, operation of lead-acid cells. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention consists in increase of service life of sealed lead-acid cell thanks to reduction of irreversible loss of water and self-discharge of negative electrode. In compliance with invention value of current of additional charge is altered so that potential of negative electrode with reference to its stationary potential is kept in range from 10.0 to 100.0 mV. EFFECT: prolonged service life of sealed lead-acid cell.
