FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method intended for short-time charging of storage cells and batteries includes passage of square-pulse current train at rate of 10 to 1000 from constant voltage value while gradually reducing current amplitude in the course of charge to 20% of source value. Device implementing proposed method has rectifier, master oscillator, pulse amplifier, precision voltage regulator, amplitude detector, voltage follower, reference voltage supply, electronic temperature transducer, and device for controlling polarity of dΔU/dΔt. derivative. Negative power terminal of rectifier is connected to common point of device; one input of voltage regulator is connected to positive power terminal of rectifier and output is designed for connecting positive pole of battery; first input of pulse amplifier is connected to positive pole of battery and second input, to first output of master oscillator whose amplitude detector input is connected to output of pulse amplifier; voltage follower input is connected to amplitude detector output; voltage comparator output is connected to voltage regulator input and first input, to master oscillator output; first output of reference voltage supply is connected to other input of voltage regulator and second output, to second input of comparator and to voltage follower output; output of electronic temperature transducer is connected to first input of reference voltage supply; input of device controlling dΔU/dΔt derivative polarity is connected to voltage follower output and output, to second input of reference voltage supply.
