UNIVERSAL ELECTRICAL MACHINE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2218651 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering; modular electrical machines for all industries. SUBSTANCE: universal electrical machines that can be used as dc generator, single- or three-phase ac generator, dc machine, single- or three-phase motor, ac or dc welding machine has even or odd number of modules. Each module has rotor with magnetic systems and magnetic cores, stator carrying multiturn windings, frame, closed commutator, removable shaft, current-conducting brushes, electronic switch, automatic tracking and regulating system, and rocking or sliding members. Novelty is that each module and closed commutator are provided with bore for connection and transfer of torques to removable shaft. Rotor and stator are engageable through even or odd number of rocking or sliding members. Rotor of each module has two disks each provided with cylindrical lug having hole for engaging removable shaft; module stator is made in the form of bushings accommodating stator core. Proposed electrical machine can be fed from any power supply. EFFECT: enhanced economic efficiency, reduced power requirement, enlarged functional capabilities. 17 cl, 4 dwg
