FIELD: rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed plasma-jet engine with closed electron drift uses magnetic system to create magnetic field in main ring channel 124 for ionization and acceleration. Magnetic system contains mainly radial first external pole peace 134, conical second external pole peace 311, mainly radial internal pole peace 135, conical second internal pole peace 351, grate number of external magnetic cores 137 enclosed by external coils 131 for connecting first and second external pole peaces 134, 311. Axial magnetic core 138 is enclosed by first internal coil 133 and is connected with first internal pole peace 135 and with second internal coil 132 arranged lower in flow relative to external coils 131. Engine contains also great number of radial taps 352,136 included into magnetic system and base 175 separated from magnetic system which serves for cooling coils 131,132,133.
