FIELD: electrical engineering; erection of modular distribution transformer substations. SUBSTANCE: novelty is that proposed method for erecting modular distribution transformer substation involves earth excavation to prepare base, erection of foundation, routing of highvoltage cables, erection of powerhouse by installing at least two three- dimensional box-shaped modules to receive power transformers and low-voltage switchgear sections, and at least four prefabricated and pre-wired modules U-shaped as viewed from top which accommodate metal-clad cubicles of high-voltage switchgear sections with their switching, monitoring, and protective devices, as well as auxiliary pieces of equipment; modules U-shaped as viewed from top are mounted in pairs on foundation with their transversal walls facing each other and integrated, each pair of modules forming common room of box-shaped configuration for section of high-voltage distribution center; mentioned coupled modules abutting against one another and/or at least one of them abutting against one three-dimensional power transformer module; equipment trial switching and early-failure procedures are made upon mounting three- dimensional modules. Optimal design of prefabricated modules and pieces of equipment installed in them according to their functional application, adopted installation and wiring system, and also sequence and relative layout of modules and their respective pieces of equipment provide for saving space and high-speed throwing of substation in operation due to reduced labor consumption for erecting prefabricated modules which minimizes in-situ work. EFFECT: enhanced economic efficiency in manufacture, installation, wiring, and operation, enhanced reliability and service period, simplified maintenance of substation. 16 cl, 21 dwg
