FIELD: electrical engineering; power supply to various projects.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes partial reconstruction of existing power network and/or erection of new local power network by laying power cable lines between at least two independent power supplies located on geographically spaced apart areas and modular distribution center mounted on pre-erected foundation and made in the form of at least one transportable prefabricated module or three-dimensional heated unit accommodating two mutually redundant sections of switching and protective devices, lengths of external opposing pairs of unit walls being of definite proportions. Equipment is mounted at manufacturing plant or at least partially upon installation of three-dimensional unit on foundation; this unit is mounted for reuse by removal from foundation, displacement, and connection to power networks of other projects, including those newly erected or reconstructed in district, town, or city. Power network maintenance method during erection of development projects in district, town, or city includes at least partial reconstruction of existing power network by laying new power cable lines between newly erected development project and at least two independent geographically spaced apart power supplies mounted on pre-erected foundation of modular distribution center. Optimal design of three-dimensional units, optimal proportion of their parameters, and optimal arrangement of equipment in them, considering their functional applications, facilitate maintenance of these units.

EFFECT: enhanced economic efficiency, reliability, and service life of power network.
