FIELD: treatment of biological fluid by light for inactivation of impurities in it. SUBSTANCE: a light intensity at least of 30 mW/sq.cm is produced for influencing the biological fluid. The biological fluid includes a certain amount of photochemical agent. At interaction of the photochemical agent with light inactivation of the photochemical agent takes place, which provides for inactivation of impurities. The device has a light source with a movable shutter assembly surrounding it. The shutter assembly includes a cylindrical tube, when it is lifted the light source is screened whenever necessary. EFFECT: provided maximum inactivation of viruses in biological fluid at a minimum injury of therapeutic proteins. 53 cl, 13 dwg, 3 tbl
