FIELD: electric arc welding, namely systems and methods for controlling electric arc welding equipment, possibly in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of measuring real voltage and current values for generating power signal representing level of power desired in real time and regulating control electric current signal. Control system includes quick-action pulse type power source provided with controller operating at frequency almost 10 kHz and using inlet current as control signal for regulating outlet current of power source; first pickup measuring real voltage of arc; second pickup measuring real current of arc; first circuit for generating power signal corresponding to level of desired power of real time at successive time moments during welding process; second circuit for generating function of measured real voltage and measured real current; third circuit for regulating control current signal according to difference between power signal and function of real voltage and real current, preferably of arc power. EFFECT: enhanced quality of welding due to controlling real power of electric arc by means of desired power. 35 cl, 16 dwg
