MAN-HOLE FOR EMPTYING RESERVOIRS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at sites of collection, preparation, transportation and storage of oil and oil products and in other branches of industry where reservoirs are used. Proposed man-hole contains cover made in form of clamp closure with two drives for opening and closing of man-hole. Mating flange of clamp closure is installed additionally before cover for connecting intermediate chamber. Branch pipe of intermediate chamber is provided with two holes with sealing elements for wrenches to connect them with drives of clamp closure of man-hole. Horizontal wall of intermediate chamber after drives is made flexible, in form of bellows to provide alignment of flanges of reservoir branch pipe and intermediate chamber branch pipes. Intermediate chamber is furnished with branch pipe for connecting with pumping out set and air bleeder union, and ends of screws of drives of man-hole clamp closure are made conical to provide joining of screw with wrenches having mating reverse cones. Invention makes it possible to open man-hole any time, irrespective to level of dead residue in reservoir. EFFECT: improved fire and explosion safety, reduced losses of products. 4 cl, 2 dwg
