SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing alkyl- or alkylalkenylsulfides that can be used as extractants of precious metals, flotation agents, addition agents to oils and as parent compounds for preparing biologically active compounds: alkyl- or alkylalkenylsulfides by interaction of corresponding mercaptan with alkyl- or alkenyl halide in the presence of alkaline agent. As an alkaline halide, alkaline metal alcoholate is used that is prepared preliminary by interaction of alcohol with alkali. Process is carried out by mixing the preliminary prepared alcoholate with mercaptan and halide followed by isolation of the end product. Invention provides the enhancement of yield of lower alkyl- or alkylalkenylsulfides and to obtain higher alkyl- or alkylalkenylsulfides. EFFECT: improved preparing method. 3 cl, 6 dwg, 8 ex
