FIELD: bioengineering.
SUBSTANCE: monomer of formula (I): R-(AO)m-(BO)n-R', where m and n are integers smaller than 150, one of which is other than zero, A and B stand for the alkyl groups that differ and contain 2 to 4 carbon atoms. Note here that the AO group stands, preferably, for ethylene oxide while the BO group stands, preferably, for propylene oxide, R stands for a polymerising unsaturated group, preferably, methacrylate. R′ differs from the known compounds in that it consists of the group of formula (II):CH3-(CH2)p-CH[(CH2)rCH3]-(CH2)q-, where p and q stand for integers, one of which is other than zero, where 5<p+q<13, r is the integer other than zero. The said monomer, polymer synthesis, its application as a thickener in aqueous compounds and produced compositions are disclosed by this invention.
EFFECT: sufficient water-based paint thickener, infrequently causing rheological, in fact, newton profiles.
