FIELD: process equipment for nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: device designed to handle defective spent fuel assemblies when dismounting them from storage tanks of depot ships or coastal storage facilities is built of two coaxially disposed parts, one being fixed base and other part, swinging platform with central frictionless bearing and annular antifriction bearing between base and platform. Swinging platform mounts vertical drilling machine supported by two posts and pair of floor wheels disposed at its butt- end part and intended for displacing device over swinging slab of storage tank. Special handle- bars are provided to facilitate its manual displacement. Fixed base has one bore for aligning device and inserting cutting tool in the form of drilling head; swinging platform has two holes radially disposed at angle of 90 deg. which can be alternately brought in alignment with fixed base bore, one hole being used for device alignment and other one, for cutting tool insertion. EFFECT: reduced time for cutting out can with defective fuel assemblies which reduces radiation dose on personnel. 2 cl, 4 dwg
