TECHNICAL DEVICE FOR CONTACT-ARC CUTTING AND DRYING OF CANISTERS WITH DEFECTIVE SPENT FUEL ASSEMBLIES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G21F9/34 B23K11/22

Abstract RU 2696247 C1

FIELD: nuclear power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: technical device for contact-arc cutting and drying of canisters with defective spent fuel assemblies (SFA) includes housing, electrode-tool, drive for rotation of electrode-tool, brush current conductor. Device is equipped with bed with central round hole, electrode-tool made of electrically conducting material in the form of hollow profile of constant cross-section for cutting with curved suspension of spent fuel assembly and annular cut of welded seam of case and tubular board on its entire thickness, fixed on holder in form of hollow profile of constant cross-section, unit for piercing the hole in the region of the canister bottom for drying the holder, consisting of an electrode-tool made of an electrically conductive material in the form of a conical rod, electric holder and adjustable reversible electromechanical drive of horizontal movement of electrode-tool of piercing assembly, current source, control rack, flexible power cables, load for fixation of technical device on rotary plate.

EFFECT: invention allows improving technological effectiveness of the process due to reduction of number of operations for reinstallation of process equipment for dismantling.
