FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for isolation of ethylene oxide by absorption from gaseous mixture preparing in the process of ethylene oxidation with molecular oxygen in the presence of silver-containing catalyst. Ethylene oxide is isolated from gaseous mixture forming in oxidation of ethylene with oxygen-containing gas by absorption with ethylene glycol an aqueous solution. Prepared saturated absorbent is heated in heat exchanger-recuperator followed by its desorption at enhanced temperature and ethylene oxide is subjected for the following multi- -phase fractionation. After desorption stage absorbent is treated with froth breaker and alkaline reagent, fed its to heat exchanger- recuperator and recirculated to absorption stage. The rate flow value of saturated absorbent is maintained in the range 0.5-5.0 m/s and absorbent in heat exchange-recuperator is cooled to temperature 70-90 C. Invention provides reducing ethylene oxide loss in its isolation, stable working heat recuperation unit at stage of absorption-desorption. Invention can be used in manufacture of ethylene oxide.
