FIELD: shielding materials. SUBSTANCE: invention provides material possessing protective properties and simultaneously high sorption capacity regarding harmful emissions. Material comprises one or several fibrous layers containing synthetic fibers and carbon-filled paper layer all joined by means of needle punching. Fibrous layer(s) is (are) made from polyester fiber mix including hollow polyester fibers, weight ratio of the latter to other fibers ranging between 3:7 and 7:3. Carbon-filled paper is based on cellulose and preferably activated-type carbon at their weight ratio between 8:2 and 9: 1. Carbon-filled paper layer is located on one of the outer sides of material or between fibrous layers. Variants of material envisage making fibrous layer(s) from mixture of hollow polyester fibers and linen cotonized fibers at the same ratio as above and making one of the outer fibrous layers of material from linen cotonized fibers. EFFECT: improved heat-shielding optionally substituted in increased sorption capacity. 8 cl, 6 ex
