PROCEDURE ESTABLISHING RESIDUAL LIFE TIME OF METAL OF MAIN PIPE-LINE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: technique evaluating residual life time of metal of main pipeline. SUBSTANCE: proposed procedure consists in selection of parameters of mechanical properties of metal of pipe-line from production forms and records, in determination of sections of pipe-line with maximum level of tangential stress, in manufacture of specimens from these sections. Values of selected parameters of mechanical state of metal of pipe-line are found by results of these tests. Specimens from plates of metal of pipe-line are manufactured in addition, values of selected parameters of mechanical properties of metal of pipe-line are found, value of plastic deformation of metal of pipe-line that it showed at moment of test is found. Life time of metal of tested pipe-line is determined per each selected parameter of mechanical properties of metal of pipe-line till specified standard index is achieved. Value of residual life time is found per each selected parameter of mechanical properties of metal of pipe-line. Minimal residual life time corresponding to one of selected parameters of mechanical properties of metal of pipe-line is taken as residual life time of metal of tested pipe-line.
