SUBSTANCE: wireless local network that enables data transmission to a number of users simultaneously has plurality of user transceivers and includes simultaneous scanning of transceivers operating in receive mode by antenna beam in different directions and transmission of omnidirectional signal in the form of calibrated signal and data burst by one of transceivers operating in transmit mode; identification of signal from transceiver operating in receive mode followed by orienting their antenna beams to signal source. Received signal is identified and antenna beams are oriented during reception of calibrating signal. Transceiver has at least one directional antenna with controlled directivity pattern changed over by unit, transmit-receive switch, transmitter, and controller. Additionally introduced in device is signal identifying unit. EFFECT: enhanced coverage or operating range of network, transmission speed, communication quality, and reliability. 21 cl, 9 dwg
