FIELD: textile industry, in particular, underwear production. SUBSTANCE: body supporting underwear has at least one zone formed so as to create holding and supporting volume for at least one protruding part of human body. Underwear is manufactured from tubular knitted fabric composed of first web yielding to stretching and thermal forming and provided with fixed edge forming one of underwear edges, said edge elastically embracing human body. Final shape of said underwear is provided by means of slots formed in tubular knitted fabric on the side of its free edge opposite to its fixed edge. Each formed bulky zone of article is doubled by internal gluing of at least one doubling member manufactured from second material yielding to stretching and thermal forming whose one side is covered with thermosetting gluing material. On the one hand, knitted fabric material and doubling member material have specific coefficients of elastic elongation or elongation resulting from thermal forming and, on the other hand, gluing material has activation temperature allowing deformation to be provided by hot forming of underwear article parts for imparting required volume to said parts without deteriorating thermal bonding thereof. EFFECT: improved supporting and holding capabilities and simplified structure and manufacture of underwear article. 23 cl, 4 dwg
