FIELD: manufacture of reinforcing wire. SUBSTANCE: method for making reinforcing wire with diameter 5.0 mm and more comprises steps of performing hot rolling of round rod of low carbon steel; then cooling and descaling it; performing cold plastic deforming in roll grooved pass of two roll system during two passes; at first pass performing deformation between smooth rolls at deformation degree 28 - 32% until making intermediate plane-oval cross section of wire; at second pass deforming wire in round roll grooved pass at deformation degree 30 - 35% along its large axis; profiling wire. Method allows to increase plastic properties of reinforcing wire by 23 - 28%. EFFECT: possibility for creating homogenous uniformly distributed deformation structure along the whole cross section of wire. 1 tbl
