FIELD: production of low carbon reinforcing wire with periodical profile for reinforcing ferroconcrete structures.
SUBSTANCE: improved plastic properties of wire are provided by method of invention comprising steps of hot rolling of round rod of low-carbon steel; cooling and removing scale from its surface; drawing round wire in each pass till diameter normalized by mathematical relation while reduction is performed by means of flat portions whose width is in range 0.4 - 0.6 of diameter of ready wire and non-reduced portions are formed between said flat portions. Periodical protrusions are formed in the form of segments whose height consists of 0.05 - 0.1 of diameter of ready wire.
EFFECT: improved plastic properties of wire due to enhanced pattern of stresses.
