FIELD: protection of supporting surfaces against action of placed on them items. SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with multi- purpose cutting resistant sheet material, that is used for protection of supporting surfaces against action of placed on them different items and substances, in particular, for protection of kitchen surfaces. The sheet material contains an absorbing layer with the first and the second opposite surfaces. At that the sheet material also contains a cutting resistant supporting system adjoining with an absorbing layer, in which the sheet material has efficiency of sorption, equal to no less than approximately 0.2, and cutting resistance of no less than approximately 30 kgf / cm. At that the having cutting resistance supporting system either forms a continuous grid, or consists of a mass of discrete members located in the absorbing layer. Also the invention is applicable to an item having an absorption capacity, cutting resistance and powdering resistance. Technical result of the invention is creation of the sheet material with high absorption capacities, cutting resistance, resistance to powdering that allows to prevent damaging of different surfaces and their defacement because of a spill liquid or cutting through items, for example, food. At that the sheet material remains light, thin, flexible convenient in use.
