FIELD: thin-sheet rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: method of profiling backup rolls is realized according to equation using such parameters as value of maximum wear of working roll; maximum width of strip rolled during exploitation of backup roll; minimum width of strip rolled during exploitation period of backup roll; maximally possible bending of backup roll at rolling process. Such method provides total increase of roll strength by 35 - 40 %, lowered rejection due to non-planeness by 10%.
