FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rolling on plate and broad strip mills. Method includes profiling support rolls in form of several curves, one of which is located in middle part of barrel in symmetry about its center, and other are at barrel edges. Reduced contact stresses between support and working rolls are ensured by fact that profile is made in form of sections of three convex parabolas, one in middle part of barrel and two conjugated to it at edges, wherein each of connections of sections of parabolas have common tangent, and edge sections smoothly conjugated with end of barrel so that tangents in places of junctions are perpendicular to roll axis. Length of section of edge of parabola on axis of barrel is 4-8 % of barrel length, and its conjugation with middle point of parabola radially spaced from interface point with end of barrel at 5-10 mm.
EFFECT: reduced contact stresses between support and working rolls.
