FIELD: rolling processes and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized due to using relation of structure-stressed state of ferromagnetic articles and structure-responsive magnetic characteristics for correcting roll profile according to comparison results of distribution of structure-responsive magnetic characteristics in working layer of roll before guiding it to stand and after discharging it out of stand. If difference between mean values of magnetic characteristics measured in central and boundary portions along length of rolls achieves value exceeding 2.5% relative to mean value of magnetic characteristic along roll barrel, profile of rolls is corrected while providing possibility for leveling distribution of magnetic characteristics during further operation. Geometry of rolled products is improved. Early damage of rolls caused by non-uniform distribution of loads in working layer of roll barrel is achieved due to minimized difference between values of magnetic characteristics in center and along edges of roll barrel as optimal grinding profile (concavity or convexity) of rolls is selected.
EFFECT: lowered consumption coefficient of rolls.
