FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention provides corrosion-resistant chromium steel for manufacturing products operated in corrosive media. Steel contains following components, wt %: carbon 0.01-0.05, manganese 0.20-0.80, silicon 0.5-2.5, chromium 11- 15, sulfur ≤ 0.007, phosphorus ≤ 0.035, iron and inevitable impurities - the rest. Contents of chromium, silicon, and carbon meet following condition: [Cr] + 4[Si] - 20[C] = 17-20%. Steel can further contain 0,5-2.5% molybdenum and also niobium in amount determined from condition: 8[C] ≤ [Nb] ≤ 1.5%. Furthermore, steel can contain titanium determined from condition: 4[C] ≤ [Ti] ≤ 1.0%. EFFECT: increased resistance against general and local corrosion with no loss in its performance characteristics (resistance to plastic deformation and brittle destruction). 4 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex
