METHOD DETERMINING ZONES OF GAS SEEPAGE WHEN ROCK MASS IS UNDERWORKED BY BREAKAGE FACE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry, underground development of deposits of mineral wealth, ventilation of mining sections, safe running of structures built on underworked rock masses. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in increased accuracy and timeliness of location of zones of gas seepage to day surface by dynamics of gas volume in mining section and in potential to take timely measures to prevent gas pollution of structures in hazardous zones on surface. With this in mind changes in relative gas volume in mining section are analyzed in process of evaluation with highlighting of its dynamic component. Graphs of change of dynamic component along length of mining column are constructed and periods of its change are established. Coordinates of its zero and maximum values are found and angles of gas discharge are determined as angles contained between direction from breakage face towards worked out space and straight lines linking zero value of dynamic component to point of exit to surface of normal to seam that passes through maximum of dynamic component. Zones of gas seepage to surface are detected by equality achieved between angles of gas discharge in each period.
