FIELD: determination of properties of coats of various assignment. SUBSTANCE: technique establishing hardness of coat consists in positioning of specimen comprising material of base and coat in device measuring hardness, in application of load to diamond indenter in the form of tetrahedral pyramid, in forcing of indenter into material of specimen, in measurement of diagonal of print in specimen and in computation of hardness of material of specimen. With this thickness of coat is found and hardness of material of base first and of material of composition ( material of base with coat ) later are determined in the capacity of characteristics of hardness of material of specimen. Coat is forced through when diagonal d of print is measured in process of determination of hardness of composition. Thereafter hardness of coat of specimen is established by computation. This approach makes it possible to establish hardness of extremely thin coats with thickness under 5 mcm. EFFECT: potential for determination of hardness of extremely thin coats. 1 dwg
