FIELD: food engineering. SUBSTANCE: filtering device has container case composed of open carcass and dead end carcass including annular lower member, and filtering chamber for receiving of substance, from which extract is to be prepared, said substance being introduced into annular lower member through filter. Dead end carcass may be folded inside open carcass together with filtering chamber. Open carcass is made from sheet material of predetermined rigidity, such as thick paper, nonwoven fabric etc, and dead end carcass is made from deformed sheet material possessing shape memory characteristics and having predetermined rigidity and flexibility characteristics, such as thin paper, nonwoven fabric etc. Open carcass and dead end carcass are connected so as to be folded. When filtering device is not used, dead end carcass is folded and raised into open carcass so as to be stored inside open carcass together with filtering chamber. For using filtering device, dead end carcass may be expanded by pushing out filtering chamber until container case recovers its bowl shape, and filtering device may be positioned on coffee cup or similar cup for pouring of hot water.
