FIELD: sorbents and civil defense. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing coal-based adsorbents, in particular to manufacture of adsorbent for adsorption of organic substance vapors (benzene, toluene, cyclohexane, etc.), inorganic gases and vapors (sulfur hydride, hydrogen cyanide, chlorine, etc. ), acidic gases and vapors (sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, etc. ), and ammonia vapors. Adsorbent is a mechanical mixture of two constituents, one of which (45-55 vol %) is composed of activated carbon with 0.5-4.9% copper oxides (as Cu) and 3.0-17.0% sodium and/or potassium carbonate and the other constituent (55-45 vol %) is composed of activated carbon with 15.0-25.0% nickel chloride. EFFECT: prolonged protection time. 2 tbl
