FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates for preparing 1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline polymer. Polymer is prepared by condensation of aniline with acetone excess at 100-120 C, under pressure, in anhydrous medium, in the presence of hydrochloric acid that is mixed firstly with aniline and water is distilled off in the presence of nonpolar solvent. Condensation is carried out in the content of chloride ions 2.3-3.5 wt.-% up to the residual aniline concentration 8-15 wt.-%. Polymerization is carried out at 90-95 C in the presence of hydrochloric acid. Prepared product is neutralized, extracted with nonpolar solvent and polymer and monomer fraction are separated from the solvent. Invention provides retaining high quality of product. Polymer is used in rubber-technical industry as a stabilizing agent against thermooxidative, atmosphere and ozone ageing of caoutchouc-base rubber. EFFECT: simplified process, enhanced safety and ecology. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 40 ex
