SULFIDIZING AGENT FOR REDUCTION SULFIDIZING MELTING OF OXIDIZED NICKEL ORES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; technology of melting of oxidized nickel ores. SUBSTANCE: proposed sulfidizing agent used as sulfur carrier contains neutralized cinder of production of hydrogen fluoride. Besides that, sulfidizing agent contains carbon and calcium oxide at following relationship of components, mass- %: carbon reductant, 10-26; calcium oxide, 0.01-3.0; the remainder being neutralized cinder of production of hydrogen fluoride. Neutralized cinder has the following composition: CaF₂, 0.7-65%, CaSO₄, CaSO₄, 0.5; the remainder being H₂O CaSO₄•2H₂O. When melting is performed with the proposed sulfidizing agent, mattes contain no harmful component (Cu, As,Zn, Pb, SiO₂). EFFECT: facilitated procedure of preparation of sulfidizing agent; reduced losses of sulfur in gases. 5 cl, 1 tbl
