FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to gripping devices intended for tension testing of flat specimens of highly elastic materials. Gripper for tension testing of specimens has body with mechanism of specimen compression, two gripping jaws interacting with it and power mechanism of testing machine, their internal working surfaces being equipped with lateral protrusions. Protrusions on each jaw are located with spacing equal to 2-3 values of thickness of gripped part of specimen and are displaced on jaws by half-spacing relative one another. Height and width of protrusions amount to 0.2-0.5 thickness of gripped part of specimen and total length of each is equal to 0.5- 0.7 width of gripped part of specimen. EFFECT: enhanced functional efficiency of gripper due to reliable fixing of rubber specimen during tension testing with simultaneous reduction of its dimensions. 5 dwg
