FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: method involves use, as silicon-containing component, expandable clay materials, which are expanded during baking operation, whereupon they are ground into fraction 0.4-1.2 mm, impregnated with lime suspension containing up to 10 wt % solid calcium hydroxide to give material, which is mixed with slaked lime partially moistened to molding viscosity. According to invention, silicon-containing component is represented by expandable and non-expandable clay materials, to which, before baking, extra 3-4% of residual product from petroleum filtration installations are added.
