SUBSTANCE: invention relates to component of solid polymerization catalyst for olefins of general formula CH₂=CHR wherein R represents hydrogen or C1-C12- hydrocarbon radical, said catalyst including magnesium, titanium, halogen, and electron donor selected from substituted succinates having specific formula: R₁ and R₂, (I), in which radicals R₃-R₆, identical or different, represent linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, or alkylaryl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and optionally including heteroatoms; R₃-R₆, identical or different, represent linear or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, or alkylaryl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and optionally including heteroatoms; provided that radicals R₃-R₅ connected to the same carbon atom can be linked to each other in a cycle-forming manner and, when all R₆ radicals are hydrogen atoms, represents radical selected from branched primary or secondary or tertiary alkyl groups, cycloalkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, or alkylaryl groups having 3 to 20 carbon atoms.
