FIELD: sewing industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has two disk-type knives, i. e. , immovable knife and knife executing rotational motions. Both knives are mounted in axially aligned relationship on single shaft fixed on casing. Drive for movable knife is made in the form of roller fixed on lever for withdrawal of pressure disk conveyor and adapted for engagement with movable knife stop. Knife has torsion spring and latch for fixing knife in raised position. Latch is positioned for rotation in knife slot. Other end of latch is pivotally connected to button for lowering of movable knife. Apparatus of such construction allows employment of expensive drive, such as electric magnet or pneumatic cylinder, to be avoided and units of sewing machine to be used for cutting-off threads.
