LOW-WATER BRIDGE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: bridge construction, highway engineering. SUBSTANCE: low-water bridge has pile supports with extensions, framework with pedestrian and roadway parts put on them, bridge guards and gear to transfer ice. Salient feature of invention consists in its construction with through longitudinal refuges in the form of narrow slits in framework over boundaries of roadway with adjoining vertical holes arranged with specified spacing and form of section. Bridge cable guards are dropped into them and lifted after passage of ice in solid form jointly with posts and longitudinal beam attached to them. Longitudinal members of bridge guards are positioned in narrow slits and posts are located in holes of proper, for instance rectangular section and are fixed or unfixed with the aid of same stopping pins. EFFECT: reduced labor input to preparation and passage of floating ice, provision for conditions of low-water bridge running safe for personnel, construction of bridge with usage of standard structures of bridge guards, liquidation of frequent time waste and interruptions in traffic not related to passage of floating ice, increased architectural level of structure. 3 cl, 6 dwg
