FIELD: bridge building, particularly for reconstruction of historically valuable bridges.
SUBSTANCE: method involves building new bridge having width exceeding that of old bridge without demolishing thereof; switching traffic to new bridge. New bridge is built above old one so that gap between new and old bridges is at least equal to span deflection value of new bridge and minimal gap is 0.7 m. Length of new bridge is more than that of old one and old bridge is completely unloaded. Pillar structure of new bridge is built outside old bridge or between pillars of old bridge pillar structure. Span structure of new bridge is built as beam, helical, suspended or arch span.
EFFECT: Possibility of new bridge building without demolishing of old bridge, usage of existent street direction, reduced labor and cost.
