FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to device of nondestructive testing and can be used to measure thickness of metal articles on which surface various coats are applied. Ultrasonic thickness gauge includes piezoconverter coming in the form of transducer containing transmitting and receiving elements with induction coil being built into separating layer between them. Two master generators are connected to inputs of piezoconverter and induction coil, outputs are connected to signal processing unit. Both closed networks present first and second independent measurement channels. Two quartz prisms with thickness above 6.0 mm are installed in addition on outside of transmitting and receiving elements of piezoconverter. Induction coil comes in the form of eddy-current converter presenting microcoil wound on ferromagnetic core with height under 2.5, built into separating layer between transmitting and receiving elements of piezoconverter, flush with quartz prisms. EFFECT: reduced noise emerging during measurement, localized measurement surface and diminished measurement error while measuring curvilinear surfaces. 2 cl, 1 dwg
