FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes horizontal builtup mold having opening in its upper portion; pair of lateral walls, each wall has zones inclined relative to horizontal axis and it is secured to support mounted on two drive eccentric mutually parallel vertical shafts. Upper and lower walls have inclined shoulders arranged in zones of changing direction of lateral walls from horizontal portions to inclined ones with inclination angle forming acute angle relative to motion direction of billet. Upper and lower walls are mounted on one of said shafts with possibility of reciprocation motion shifted by phase to pair of lateral walls. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of apparatus, improved stabilization of temperature mode of horizontal builtup mold. 3 dwg
