FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous metal casting. Crystallizer comprises two pairs of movable walls. Working surface of first pair of walls comprises inclined (5) and vertical (6) sections fixed on strikers (1). Working surface of second pair (7) of walls is made vertical and tightly adjoins the first pair of walls at angle of 90° to the working surface of the first pair of walls, with formation in the crystallizer of the cavity limited by working surfaces of both pairs of walls. Both pairs of movable walls are installed on four eccentric drive shafts (8) with identical eccentricities and eccentric bushings (9), with possibility of reciprocal movement from drive shafts through eccentric bushings. Strikers rotate on eccentric drive shafts towards each other, and walls of second pair (7) move in vertical plane.
EFFECT: reduced slippage of workpiece in direction of its stroke and increased mechanical properties of workpiece.
