FIELD: rocketry and space engineering; pre-launch filling systems of launch vehicles. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes filling the oxidizer tank with liquid oxygen to required volume at control of temperature of liquid oxygen contained in tank. At the beginning of filling, tank is filled with oxygen at boiling point and normal atmospheric pressure in the amount lesser than volume of full filling. Under-filling corresponds to amount of sub-cooled oxygen required for delivery to tank bottom for reducing temperature of liquid oxygen at service line inlet before oxidizer pump. This reduction ensures cavitation-free start of oxidizer pump. Control of oxygen temperature in tank is performed immediately before launch of launch vehicle by replenishing the tank with sub-cooled oxygen of above- mentioned under-filling. EFFECT: facilitated procedure of filling; reduced power requirements; increased mass of payload injected by launch vehicle. 1 dwg
