FIELD: light industry. SUBSTANCE: multiple-layer leather comprises fibrous base with bulk density of 0.19-0.24 g/cu.cm. Base is composed of polyester and polypropylene filaments or polyester and polyester shrinkable filaments used in the ratio of 7-8.5:3-1.5 and having linear density of 0.12-0.33 tex. Base has adhesive layer, porous polyvinyl chloride-based layer and continuous polyester urethane-based layer. Adhesive layer is embedded into fibrous base through depth making 3-10% the thickness of fibrous layer for producing of adhesive-fibrous layer and porous layer in adhesive-fibrous layer extending to depth making 3-7% of its thickness, with ratio of fibrous base layer, adhesive-fibrous layer, porous layer and continuous layer being 1: (0.25-1): (0.75-3):(0.25-1.5), respectively. Method involves successively applying adhesive, porous and continuous layers onto one side of base; providing thermal processing of adhesive and porous layers at temperature of 130-160 C, with porous layer being processed at temperature of 180-230 C. Artificial leather has appearance of natural leather and keeps deformation and strength properties characteristic for natural leather. EFFECT: provision for keeping properties typical for natural leather, increased resistance to multiple deformations, improved wear resistance and form stability. 3 cl, 2 tbl
