FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of welding with use of two electric current pulses and variable compression effort; heating, mainly upper part while increasing its electric resistance by means of first electric current pulse at lowering compression effort of electrodes relative to its nominal value by 40-80%; by means of second welding electric current pulse providing welding spot of predetermined size at nominal compression effort. Value of shunting electric current flowing along upper part is lowered due to heating upper part. EFFECT: enhanced quality of welded joint due to lowered value of by-pass electric current and improved fusion of lower part. 2 dwg
