FIELD: equipment for biological purification of contaminated water. SUBSTANCE: aeration tank has at least one vessel, supply and discharge water ducts for liquid to be purified and for active slit, air duct for supplying of aerating air, and lifting and lowering circulation channels arranged inside main vessel and defined by at least one separating wall, which does not reach vessel bottom and predetermined liquid level, and aerating air distributing devices. Separating wall has flange arranged in its upper part and oriented toward lowering channel. Separating wall may be made in the form of two parallel partitions or several partitions connected with one another to form box of rectangular or other section, or in the form of shell. Cutting and guiding device is positioned above lifting circulation channel including flange in spaced relation therewith. Aerating air-distributing devices are arranged in upper part of circulation channel below upper edge of separating wall in the vicinity of flange.
