FIELD: chemical industry; petrochemical industry; pharmaceutical industry; metallurgy and other industries. SUBSTANCE: the straight-flow high-speed apparatus may be used in processes of dust and gas purification, utilization of products, absorption, chemisorptions, heat exchange, as well as in realization of reactions in a gas-liquid mode, in the processes applied in chemical and petrochemical industries, metallurgy, nonferrous metallurgy, power, pharmaceutical and other industries, in productions of mineral fertilizers and plants protection plant chemicals, in the systems of utilization and purification of gases, smoke fumes of heat and power plants, the gases containing harmful impurities and solid particles (dust), in purification of gases at ecological protection of environment and in other parts of the national economy. The apparatus contains: a housing with means for gases input and output; a shell located in one and more stages of the active hydrodynamic zones for gas-liquid treatment of a gas stream; a gas camera to deliver a gas stream in each shell; a contact cavity to sprinkle the gas stream with a liquid at an input of each shell; a cavity to feed the gas stream with a sprinkling liquid through devices of delivery of the sprinkling liquid in each contact cavity of a shell; a separator with centrifugal swirlers located at the gas-liquid stream outlet of each shell. The apparatus has transition zone along the route of the gas and gas-liquid streams in the places of a narrowing formed due to change of the local streams speeds within the limits of 0.05 0.25 from total speed of the gas-liquid stream in the range of 7 - 30 m\s. The adjustable limits of the speed changes for components of the apparatus depending on the speed in the basic site of the shell with an active hydrodynamic zone of the gas-liquid treatment of a gas stream allow to increase productivity, to reduce power inputs and metal consumption, to keep a stable mode of the operational process.
