FIELD: guiding and supporting relatively thin sheets or metallic bands at transporting them, for example by means of roller table and(or) during, before or after cutting process at passing through shears. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of acting upon sheet or metallic band at least at lower side by means of intensive bundles of jets of liquid or gas medium from nozzles while supporting and guiding sheet or band by means of pulse energy; guiding fluid under pressure along feeding ducts inside transporting and(or) cutter drums to nozzles along their periphery in such a way that to provide flowing out of fluid in front and(or) behind carrying zones of drums or as near as possible to cutters of cutter drum, obliquely or approximately by right angle relative to sheet or band in the form of closed stream. At using rotary shutter mounted, preferably on end of rotary transporting or cutter drum, fluid flows in limited angular position of drum out of nozzles directed to sheet or to metallic band.
